Finally a Blog...of us
Okay, after much badgering by Munchkin I am setting up a Blog for our family. I am not so regular at the computer thing and have some big projects going so bear with us. I know that some of the older Pics of Rowan will be missing for a while but I am going to try and put up some of the better ones.
I also want to apologize to family that I have been very poor at keeping in touch with, we have had a lot going on. If I had known that this "adult" phase was going to be so time consuming I would have held off on it. Ah, well, on to pics.
So, as part of the reason I have had so little time: Here is our front room. After six years of living in this house we are finally painting over the craptastic flat white the contractors haphazardly sprayed our house in.
Please forgive the mess, it is a work in progress.
The red is called Brick Dust, the brown is Sueded Leather and the beige I have no idea what it is called.
This is as if you are looking in from the front door. There is a small alcove just to the right of where the picture doesn't show.
We are rushing to get the room done because Beth has an antique bellows organ that is a family heirloom coming out here. It is going on the wall beneath the cutouts (where the plants are).

This is from the point of view of the stairs looking down at the front door. The red wall with the cutouts is behind ad to the right of this pic. The brown doesn't look exactly right due to the daylight/artificial light.
The small platform you see in the left foreground is going to be the sueded leather also (or is now but pic was taken before painting).
We are trying to have a nice rich looking front room. My goal is to put a custom poker/game table in this room. I might even be able to get a soft tip dart board in here but am not to sure if we will even have a wall it would go on. You will see why soon.

To the right you see a better idea of the brown we went with. We are still debating on painting the trim around the door the beige, it is starting to look like we will.

Note the oh-so-cool cat perch. This big thing behind it is where we are going to hide our board games, cards, game t.v. (playstation, nintendo, super NES and Intellivision) and some books. We are going to eventually hide the shelves that are glassed in by either painting them with the stain glass paints you can get at hobby stores or frosting it. Seeing a Monopoly box through the glass kind of ruins the image we are wanting.
The left pic is as if you are looking from under the ladder of the right pic back into the room. The brown is still wet and hasn't "deepened" from drying.
Starbucks on the table; caffeine in the system; all systems go.
The pic on the right is from the stairs again. To get an idea of the size of that entertainment center/bookcase there are two windows on the wall it is on. Their sills are 113 inches apart. The piece is 109 inches wide. Just right.
So, the past few weekends and quite a few more will be spent finishing up on this project. Rowan has been a dream during this process and has been only mildly concerned about a little less Mommy/Daddy time. So, because she is such a sweetheart and gracious enough to let us work this next page is picture heavy and Rowan-centric. As it should be.

We love the room! The colors look great. It will be neat to see the room when it's all done! Keep us posted on Rowan too. I can't wait to see how she's growing and read about what she's up to now!
Hey sweeties! I love looking at this. I miss you all so much and can't wait to see you again. I think about you all the time and can't wait to see my little princess and give her a big hug. I hope all is well with you. I'm anxious to see some new pics.
Lots of Love!
